Creative strategies of sustainability” for cultural workers, sept. 9th – 14th 2013, Berlin

A week of debate and action around the theme “Culture and sustainability”, and more specifically about “Creative strategies of sustainability for European art centres”.

This week programme for cultural operators proposes a common reflection and a time of intense experiences sharing around the potential “strategies of sustainability”. The seminar will be composed by six full-days of activities including workshops, lectures, exploring sustainable places and projects in Berlin, initiation about straw bale building, artistic expression, and social interaction.

For 20 cultural workers the costs for travel and accommodation will be covered. Please send an email to csos(at)ufafabrik.de  and you will get the application form. The deadline for applications will be the 14^th of june 2013.

Seminar Creative Strategies of Sustainability – 09th – 14th of September 2013

Programme

Monday 9th
Registration during the morning, after lunch, welcome and introduction, guided tour of the ufaFabrik, who is who and the presentation of the programme. Get together at the common buffet.

Tuesday 10th
In the morning a lecture about “Construction and Building”, green roofs, sustainable materials, energy production, etc. After lunch, two workshop options: building with straw bales and an physical training.

Wednesday 11th
A bicycle tour will be organised all day long to visit artistic projects and sustainable places in Berlin. During the evening time to enjoy the city or see friends.

Thursday 12th
Start in the morning with a lecture about “Greening the Cantina”, background information and practical examples around food, food production and catering.
During the afternoon, the workshops will continue. Plan for the night: Bike cinema with shorts!

Friday 13th
In the morning a “Talk about Money” with vivid examples, including cooperation models, ethic banking, tips and creative strategies to operate with the minimal financial resources. After lunch, the attendees will share and define their own individual strategy of sustainability. Concert in the evening.

Saturday 14th
Debate and conclusion: presentation of the various “creative strategies of sustainability”, and a good bye party in the ufaFabrik’s bake house.
